Column 3D Model

This Column 3D model was captured with an Artec 3D Scanner.

  • Scanning time:  2 min
  • Processing time: 5 min
  • Scanner used: Artec Eva

A wooden architectural element, scanned with Eva in just under 2 minutes. Following scanning, it was slightly adjusted in 3D modeling software and then milled out of Styrofoam in order to replace the original piece, which was deteriorating. Despite the scan being both fast and easy, the amount of data captured by Eva proved more than sufficient for creating a vivid 3D model of the original golden column. By looking at the reverse side of the model, it’s clear that the high degrees of detail of the various wooden segments and surfaces, as well as the nails holding the pieces together, all add to the authenticity of this 3D model.
