Napoleon Monument

This Napoleon Monument 3D model was captured with an Artec 3D Scanner.

  • Scanning time:  2 Days
  • Processing time: 10 Days
  • Scanner used: Artec Eva

To create a highly detailed model of the historic 4.5-meter tall monument of Napoleon, French 3D visualization company IMA Solutions turned to Artec Eva. Following the scan, Artec Studio was used for post-processing. Commissioned by the Musée de la Révolution Française, the goal was to capture the statue in its entirety, without any detail lost.

Since the scan took place outside, Eva was hooked up to a portable battery and connected to a tablet, which allowed the scanning to proceed unplugged, and with plenty of room.

With 18 scanning sessions taking place over the course of two days, and another ten days to process the huge amounts of data captured, the task was completed and ready for an exhibition celebrating the 200th anniversary of Napoleon’s return to France following his time of exile on the island of Elba.

With such an impressively detailed and accurate 3D model of the statue, we’re quite sure the statue’s famous sculptor Emmanuel Frémiet would be proud.
