DyeMansion Powershot S

Automated 3D printed plastic part smoothing and surface finishing solution for additive manufacturing.

Automated 3D printed part smoothing solution

Suited for powder-bed processes, such as Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).

Since 3D printers work layer by layer the outcome are parts with rather rough surfaces compared to conventional manufacturing methods. In addition, the untreated surface is predisposed to dirt.

The Powershot S is used for part smoothing and finishing to vastly improve 3D printed parts.

DyeMansion smoothed part

DyeMansion Powershot S Features

Smooths 3D printed parts

Beads accelerated by compressed air are shot at the surface of the parts reducing the roughness and homogenizes the surface. Cycle time: 10-15 minutes.

Compatible with powder-based 3D printers

Powershot S is compatible with all common powder-bed technologies such as SAF, MJF, SLS, and delivers a smooth surface finish.

Touchscreen control

Experience a new level of process control with a touchscreen and integrated control panel.

Continuous monitoring

With a user-centric design everything can be easily accessed and operated safely. Continuous monitoring allows an efficient and reproducible process.

R

Easy operation of the DyeMansion Powershot C machine:

The combination of blasting and flat-jet nozzles as well as an ionizing unit are optimized to achieve this powder-free process. A high-performance, adjustable cyclone separates the blasting media from other particles and keeps the cabinet clean.

Key Features

  • Proprietary surfacing process with plastic beads
  • Most efficient surfacing technology to achieve end-use parts
  • Non-abrasive surface homogenization
  • Semi-glossy surfaces with ideal properties: The foundation for superior coloring results
  • Achieves high scratch resistance and soft haptics

DyeMansion Powershot S Benefits

PowerShot S Smoothed Part

Efficient surfacing technology for end-use parts

The proprietary PolyShot Surfacing (PSS) is non-abrasive and works perfectly for hard plastics like PA12 or PA11 across all geometries. Shooting beads accelerated with compressed air equalizes the peaks and lows of the surface, achieving a more homogenous part quality.

With a cycle time of only 10 minutes and a capacity of a mid-sized build job per run, the Powershot S works very cost-effectively. Unlike time consuming abrasive methods like tumbling, PolyShot Surfacing increases your productivity and part quality significantly.

Semi-gloss surface finish

Semi-gloss surfaces

The Powershot S delivers unique semi-gloss looks and pleasant haptics for almost every 3D-printed end-use product.

Being heavily used since 2016 in various industries, it set totally new quality standards due to enabling the results of improved scratch resistance and homogenous finishes. This is particularly important for further processing steps, like the DeepDye coloring.

Powershot S Control

Advanced operator convenience

Experience a new level of process control with a touchscreen and integrated control panel. The Powershot S is being operated through a user friendly interface and pre-installed programs can be started. Individual programs can be configured and saved easily, enabling a fast adaption to your application.

With a user-centric design everything can be easily accessed and operated safely. Continuous monitoring allows an efficient and reproducible process.

Superior surface finish

Improved part quality, look and feel of 3D printed part

Since Powder Bed Fusion technologies work layer by layer the outcome are parts with rather rough surfaces compared to conventional manufacturing methods. The PolyShot Surfacing process improves the look and feel of your 3D printed parts.

The homogenized surface achieved by PolyShot surfacing ensures that the color is absorbed more evenly and better by the part during coloring. This is advantageous when further processing steps such as gluing or painting are to be carried out.
