U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday that InterPRO of Deep River is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.”

Founded in 1997, InterPRO partners with Hewlett-Packard to provide 3D printing, as well as prototype injection molding, casting, computer numerical control (CNC) machining, and reverse engineering services to companies in the aerospace and defense, medical device, computer, marine, telecommunications, and other sectors. With the help of 12 employees, InterPRO serves a renowned list of clients including Pratt & Whitney, United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Bose, Lockheed-Martin, Tesla, Dell, Black & Decker, Colgate, and Yale University.

At the invitation of the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center in Connecticut, InterPRO attended the Avalon Air Show in Melbourne, Australia earlier this year to seek out new business opportunities. They also recently added another 4,500 square feet to their operating space. Just last week, InterPRO installed a Hewlett-Packard Jet Fusion printer – the first to be installed in New England – in their new, 4,000 square foot “Innovation Center.” InterPRO is proud to sponsor the University of Connecticut’s School of Engineering Formula Society of Automotive Engineers’ race team.

“InterPRO makes it possible for businesses to get their products to market and into customers’ hands faster,” said Murphy. “They’re helping companies grow and create jobs, all while growing their own. Congrats to Kevin and the whole InterPRO team on their success.”

Kevin Dyer, President of InterPRO, said, “The team at InterPRO has helped companies make better products faster for over two decades. Whether it’s plastic medical products that help save lives or metal components that fly on aircraft, additive manufacturing is drastically improving how products are designed and manufactured. Our ultimate goal is to ensure the success of our customers and we are proud of the relationships we have built with clients across Connecticut and throughout the Northeast region. We love our work!”

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating our state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s 4,600 manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the 21st Century Buy American Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
