VW Bus 3D Model

This VW Bus 3D model was captured with an Artec 3D Scanner.

  • Scanning time:  3 hours
  • Processing time: 5 hours
  • Scanner used: Artec Eva

This classic VW micro bus was scanned with Artec Eva. The parts on the underside of the chassis that could not be accessed with the scanner were modeled in third-party software. The size, shape, and reflectivity of this VW bus were no hurdle for Eva. In just a handful of hours, everything was captured, from the roof all the way down to where the rubber meets the road.

In terms of speed of scanning, Eva is brilliant at capturing rivers of detail in record time, and for those parts and regions of an object that have exceptional levels of intricate detail and geometry, Space Spider can be used in symphony with Eva. Whether both Artec 3D scanners are used, or just one, as was the case with this VW bus, following scanning, all the scans are easily merged together in Artec Studio into one unified 3D model ready for export.
