Process & Pricing

Because of the custom nature of 3D print jobs, our services are quoted on a job by job basis.

The total cost of a job includes any required 3D file preparation/repair, build cost, and machine time. The build cost depends on part geometry and volume.

Here is a breakdown of factors we consider when quoting your job.

File Preparation

To reduce costs and time of your job, export your 3D models at a 1:1 scale, unioned and manifold. A 3D mesh (in STL or OBJ file format) that meets these requirements, eliminates setup and file prep costs. See our Design Guide below on how to prepare your 3D files.

File Creation (when required)

In cases where your file[s] do not meet the requirements for 3D printing, we can provide a design service to help move your project forward.

The price will vary depending on the amount of time required to generate production ready files. Our team provides budgetary estimates at the beginning of a project with an hourly charge.

Material & 3D Printing Technology

Costs vary depending on the type of material and 3D printing technology chosen. In general, FDM prints are more affordable than PolyJet prints. However, many other factors including volume, geometry, and infill density will affect the cost.

We will make a recommendation upon reviewing your 3D model file[s].

Part/Job Size

The main cost factor is the size of your part or the number of parts required. The size impacts the overall volume and machine time, which dictates the production cost.

The volume of an object increases much faster than the linear dimensions do. Even a small incremental change in size will have an exponential impact on the production cost.

We will make a recommendation upon reviewing your 3D model file[s].

Turnaround

Our standard turnaround time is 3 to 5 business days before pick up or shipping. But the production time depends on the size of the parts, number required, and the infill density. We recommend that you contact us to find out the production time for your job.
