Design and Manufacturing Consulting

Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) 3D Printing

DMLS fuses powdered metal and alloy materials to produce metal parts. DMLS produces fully realized metal parts, including tools and end-use parts for a variety of industries.

TriMech can produce extremely lightweight geometries that are optimized for performance, ultra-light “all-in-one” metal assemblies with internal features, supports, and lattice structures, as well as fully dense metal parts.


Metal 3D printing, with it’s advanced material offerings, is best utilized in highly complex and involved designs.

Fused Deposition Modeling 3D Printing

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) creates parts layer-by-layer with engineering-grade thermoplastics. Ideal for functional parts, including prototypes, low-volume production, manufacturing aids, jigs and fixtures.


The FDM process uses the same types of raw materials used in the injection molding process. This technology includes use of support material to create create complex parts and assemblies.

Laser Sintering / Selective Laser Sintering

Laser Sintering (LS) (also known as Selective Laser Sintering or SLS) uses a CO2 laser to heat and fuse durable thermoplastic powder to build versatile parts with high elongation at break.


LS production parts and prototypes provide lightweight, heat and chemical resistant solutions. SLS constructs 3D-printed parts from nylon (polyamide), which is strong, tough and durable.

Multi Jet Fusion (MJF)

Multi Jet Fusion is a durable technology which produces medium-quality surface finish, which is ideal for high-complexity with medium accuracy and can be used for short production runs.


MJF is ideal for enclosures, electronics housings, ducts, lattice structures, and functional assemblies. Suitable for applications that require durability such as snap fits.

Modern Machining Methods

CNC Machining Services include milling, and turning for the production of high-quality parts using modern machining methods. We employ highly skilled machinists and industry-leading equipment to accommodate a vast array of manufacturing applications.

CNC machining is usually a slower prototyping process than 3D printing parts. However, it is an extremely accurate process and is, therefore, ideal for low- and high-volume production of end-use production-grade metal and plastic components.


Subtractive manufacturing is still available for applications where a machined part from metal or plastic is the best solution. CNC Machining can also be used to finish 3D printed parts that require boring, drilling, face milling or other precision machining for enhancing features.

Molding & Casting

With Stratasys thermoplastics and photopolymers, molds can be quickly produced to evaluate prototype parts or produce low volumes of end use parts.

Mold applications include Blow, Injection, Pulp, Silicone, Hydroforming, Thermoforming, Casting, Investment Casting Patterns, Foundry and Sand Casting, and Urethane Casting.


3D printing molding is especially useful to test the design, fit and function of products before mass production. If changes are required, new mold iterations can be 3D printed in just a few hours at minimal cost.

TriMech’s part finishing and painting team offers over 50 years of combined experience in the fine art of model making and part finishing. Custom finishing options include sealing, tempering, sanding, polishing, painting and electroplating.


Stereolithography (also known as SL or SLA) builds parts layer-by-layer using a UV laser to solidify liquid photopolymer resins. It is commonly used to produce concept models, master patterns, large prototypes and investment casting patterns.


SLA is a good general-purpose additive process for a wide range of applications. Models and prototypes are rigid, strong and durable.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

Get parts that have excellent long-term stability and resistance to most chemicals, ideal for tooling, fixtures and low-volume production. SLS is commonly used for functional prototypes, tooling, fixtures, design evaluation models, small manufacturing runs, and product testing.

Parts produced with Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology can rival injection-molded and machined plastic parts, with excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance. SLS is an extremely versatile method that can work for a huge variety of materials, from very stiff to flexible. Because there’s no need for support structures, SLS printing is a good choice for producing very complex geometries.


SLS production parts can be strong, water and air-tight and made out of engineering-grade thermoplastics.
