3D print post-processing smoothing involves various techniques to remove layer lines, from manual sanding with progressively finer grits to chemical methods like vapor smoothing (e.g., acetone for ABS/PVB, ethyl acetate for PLA) for seamless finishes, and applying resins/coatings or primers to fill gaps before sanding and painting, with options varying by material (FDM/SLA/SLS) and desired finish, from matte to glossy.
